Our 100-year-old grand villa is located conveniently behind Sassafras Village. Apart from shopping and dining at your fingertips, you are surrounded by amazing walking trails, waterfalls, and native wildlife.

For our foreign guests, this is the ultimate Australian experience and for our local visitors, this is the luxury getaway you need.

Sassafras and the Dandenong Ranges offer an abundance of opportunities to unwind and relax with award-winning restaurants and experiences at your doorstep. At the end of our street, you can walk into an endless forest full of native wildlife. At the other end of our street (25 meters), you will find yourself at the heart of Sassafras Village.

We have created this space with comfort and luxury in mind. Villa Rao of Sassafras is the perfect venue for family travel, to entertain clients, or for a getaway with space all to yourself.
Make friends with the local King Parrots, Rainbow Lorikeets, and Kookaburras who can be fed right out the back door.

Traveling with your pet? They are welcome to stay, please discuss this at the time you book. The outdoor area is not fully fenced off so we recommend keeping dogs indoors at night to protect our local wildlife.
We provide a little doggy mattress for your pet guests as well as bowls for food and water. There’s an additional $50 pet cleaning fee for each booking with an animal.

At Villa Rao, we continue to take great care in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our property. We have supplemented our normal procedures with additional COVID-19 cleanliness-specific guidance, training, and information to make our cleaning hygiene policy and procedures even more stringent.
Additionally, we have increased our cleaning and disinfecting procedures to clean rooms after guests depart and before our next guest arrives, with particular attention paid to high-touch items and areas.
