The enchanted grounds of Clarendon are just outside Sassafras Village - a truly delightful setting, tucked quietly away off the main Mount Dandenong Tourist Road.
Two acres of English country gardens and meadow nestle amongst a huge variety of beautiful century old trees including Oregon Pine, Monterrey Cypress, Camellia, Rhododendron, Maple, and Elm trees.
Clarendon's luxury guest accommodation is private, peaceful and romantic. Our 'petite suite' Dovecote Cottage doesn't have a spa, kitchen or fireplace but just oozes cosiness and is perfect for a single traveller or budget conscious couple looking for a short stay. Country tranquility gives you a peaceful and relaxed sleep, awakening to the sound of the birds.
Our Dovecote Cottage is a two storey one bedroom cottage, self-contained, completely private and very cosy!
Upstairs there is a bedroom with queen size bed fitted with electric blankets. There are windows on three sides looking out to camellia trees and garden areas. There is also a beautiful bathroom with shower over bath and luxury toiletries and towels. Down a few stairs there is a gorgeous sitting room with a comfy two seater couch and large picture window overlooking the private garden. Please note there is no kitchen, spa or fireplace in the Dovecote Cottage.
The cottage has an electric heaters and reverse cycle air conditioning and includes an an LCDTV and DVD and NETFLIX for your entertainment. There is free WiFi also.
Generous continental breakfast provisions such as cereals, milk, yoghurt, fresh country bread, jams and butters are provided for the first 2 mornings of your stay as well as complimentary fruit, biscuits, port and chocolates and an espresso coffee machine.
Outdoors offers a number of quiet sitting areas as well as a BBQ.

11 Clarkmont Road, Sassafras is located just off the Mount Dandenong Tourist Road within easy walking distance of the popular Sassafras Village, the home of Miss Marples Teahouse & Sherbrooke Forest, the home of the Lyrebirds and close to the excellent shopping, cafes and restaurants of Olinda & Mt Dandenong Villages.
The Dandenong Ranges are centrally located to the Yarra Valley Wineries, Phillip Island and the Melbourne CBD and just 60 minutes drive from the Melbourne International Airport or 45 minutes from Melbourne CBD.
