Take a walk with a local guide to see the very oldest buildings in Melbourne city - 9 buildings constructed before the population explosion of the Gold Rush of the 1850s. From churches and pubs to homes and businesses, we’ll tell you about their stories, not just their architecture and give you plenty of time to take photos. The tour commences outside St James’ Old Cathedral at 10 Batman St and concludes at the Mitre Tavern where you can rest your feet and buy a drink in the very oldest building in the city. This tour covers around 4 kilometres with plenty of stops for talking and photos. We recommend you wear weather appropriate clothing with comfortable walking shoes and carry a bottle of water.
