Once a well known Olinda art gallery, The Gallery has been transformed into a spacious, boutique, private, self-contained cottage for two; stylishly fitted and furnished with warm interiors and contemporary design.

Upon rising, you'll have all the space you need to cook a relaxed breakfast at your own pace. We provide you with local, organic, free-range eggs and the best free-range bacon available. Savour the gorgeous aroma of home-baked bread, straight from the oven, left outside your door each morning. Choose from the gourmet range of cereals, organic muesli, organic yoghurt, pure juice, freshly ground coffee and array of specialist teas, all included as part of your stay. We can also cater for your special dietary requirements.

Immerse yourself in the centre of the beautiful Dandenong Ranges. Escape, recharge and be inspired by the intimate setting of your private luxury accommodation on 1 1/2 acres, bordered by old beech, chestnut and birch trees.

Unwind in the double spa, gaze out at woodland gardens and secluded farmland and then snuggle up in front of the no-fuss Coonara gas log fire. Maybe read for a while on one of the inviting window seats.

Convenient to wedding venues and the cafes and restaurants of Olinda, Mt Dandenong, Sassafras, Ferny Creek and Sherbrooke, The Gallery is the ideal place to relax and refresh yourself.

Finally, if you're feeling active, there are magnificent rainforest walks, Cloudehill Gardens and the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden are nearby. Hamer Arboretum has spectacular walks and views.The iconic Puffing Billy Railway is just a 10 minute drive away for a romantic steam train ride. If you're more inclined to sit with a glass of wine, the world class vineyards of the Yarra Valley are only 15-20 minutes away.

The Gallery story

We want our guests to be refreshed and inspired by the best stay we can offer. Our architect worked with us in transforming what was once an art and studio space into a stylish and warm retreat. The brief was to provide the most comfortable, intimate and contemporary accommodation possible in a generous space.

Sure, The Gallery looks good... but you might like to know there's a philosophy of sustainability behind it:
- 100% green power offset
- Locally made, double-glazed windows
- Plantation grown FSC and recycled timbers
- Reclaimed local floorboards and bench tops (the kitchen worktop is from a fallen tree)
- Walls and ceilings finished with low VOC paints
- 100% natural wool carpet
- 100% wool doona and pure cotton linen & towels
- Low energy lighting
- Locally designed and built 5 1/2 star gas fire heating
- Double insulated with petrochemical-free, fibre ecobatts (made from recycled bottles)

Even the doormat is made from recycled plastic bottles and rubber!

Our locally made range of toiletries is designed for pampering and to be gentle on the planet. Virtually all the ingredients are plant-sourced and exclude petro-chemicals, parabens, dyes, sls, sles and als.

No tiny disposable bottles either; we refill our convenient and generous pump packs with wild lavender body wash and salon quality shampoo and conditioner, saving more than two hundred small, plastic bottles going to landfill each year.
